Meet Karl Richins
I’m Karl Richins, a Part 107 licensed drone pilot since 2021, based in Blackfoot, Idaho. Through extensive practice projects, I’ve developed my skills in aerial photography, drone mapping, and terrain documentation. I enjoy turning aerial imagery into useful information and data while capturing the scenery that makes each location distinctive.
My professional background includes serving as a Federal Probation Officer, working in Federal Court, officiating college football in the Big 12 Conference, and subsequently supervising college football officials. Those roles shaped my commitment to preparation, attention to detail, clear communication, and thoughtful judgment. I bring that same approach to MentorRef Drone Services.
I work with customers to understand their goals and tailor the imagery and deliverables to their needs. Based in eastern Idaho, I’m available to travel for projects, with location and travel arrangements discussed during planning.
